Racism and sexism

The Testimonials series was Consent is Key's first thematic focus. People who have experienced sexual violence share their stories, accompanied by the perspective of an expert, in awareness videos. The goal is to listen, understand, and become aware of the realities of sexual violence in higher education. In this capsule, Kharoll-Ann Souffrant, social worker and scholar, reflects on an assault she experienced in her youth. She highlights the connections between racism, sexism and sexual violence, as well as the additional barriers faced by people from marginalized groups.
